We found Charlie lost on our street Sat, 19th. We found him wandering our neighbors yard. Afraid he might get ran over, we called the Human Animal Services. They said they were too busy to come out and before you knew it, he had food and a warm bed and house to sleep in. The girls love him of course. They have wanted a puppy and kitty for a long time. He is a very well behaved dog and well potty trained. He looks very healthy and happy too. He has spent 3 nights so far. We are trying to locate the owner. The dog tag has his name but no home address. Also, the phone number on it doesn't take incoming calls (a useless tag).
We went to the County Shelter yesterday and they were able to contact the owner using the number I tried to call. The owner is about 19 years old is going to college in Sacramento. He had to leave the dog at his parents who don't really want the dog. So guess what? He asked us if we wanted to adopt him. After thinking (my heart said yes and my brain was telling me no) it over on the phone with Scott (we had about 10 min to decide), we decided to adopt him. He's our unexpected Christmas present! His birthday is January 1st. He will be one year old.
