Meet Charile! Newest member of our family - 12/23

We found Charlie lost on our street Sat, 19th. We found him wandering our neighbors yard. Afraid he might get ran over, we called the Human Animal Services. They said they were too busy to come out and before you knew it, he had food and a warm bed and house to sleep in. The girls love him of course. They have wanted a puppy and kitty for a long time. He is a very well behaved dog and well potty trained. He looks very healthy and happy too. He has spent 3 nights so far. We are trying to locate the owner. The dog tag has his name but no home address. Also, the phone number on it doesn't take incoming calls (a useless tag).

We went to the County Shelter yesterday and they were able to contact the owner using the number I tried to call. The owner is about 19 years old is going to college in Sacramento. He had to leave the dog at his parents who don't really want the dog. So guess what? He asked us if we wanted to adopt him. After thinking (my heart said yes and my brain was telling me no) it over on the phone with Scott (we had about 10 min to decide), we decided to adopt him.
He's our unexpected Christmas present! His birthday is January 1st. He will be one year old.
Shhh....Charlie is sleeping.

Winter Wonderland at Discovery Kingdom - Dec. 5

No need to drive to the mountains this year. We got our fill at Six Flags. The snow hill here is so much fun for Carissa and Maia. They stood in line themselves and went down the hill repeatedly. It was freezing this night. We even had thermals on.

Carissa Looses Her First Tooth! Dec. 1

We were sad to have missed it since we were on the cruise. She was eating an apple at my friend Kim's house. Kim couldn't find it (she must have swallowed it) and grandma and grandpa weren't going to look for it it you know where.

Welcome Home Mommy & Daddy! Dec. 4

When we got home, we had a nice surprise from Carissa and Maia. They made us a cool poster and got us a welcome home cake and balloons!

Cruise to the Carribean: Nov. 27-Dec. 3

We went on a 5 night cruise to the Carribean on Carnival Ectasy for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We had so much fun. Loved the warm weather, crystal clear waters and beautiful sand. We stopped in Cozumel and Progresso, Yucatan. In Cozumel we went scuba diving for the first time. We went about 20 feet. It was amazing! We look forward to doing it again. In Progresso we looked at the Chichen Itza Mayan Ruins. It was a nice relaxing trip for sure. We even met another couple, Scotty and Holly that we had fun hanging out with. We still keep in contact with them and may see them in May when the come out here to SF for their honeymoon.

Polar Express Party - Nov. 21

Boarders book store had another special event to commemorate the story, Polar Express. They invited all the children to come in their PJ's. We took Hailey with us and had a great time. They read the story to us and then the kids got to color, make a paper chain, and parade around the store with a bell they got to keep. They passed out fancy chocolate milk to all the kids. After we took them across the parking lot to the Nut Tree play area and rode the train there. We let them go on it by themselves. They really liked that.

Friendship Feast - Nov. 19

Carissa and Maia had a fun 2 day Friendship Feast at school. I helped out on one of the days. They each made 2 costumes: pilgrim and Native American. Then their teacher allowed them to choose which costume they wanted to wear for the feast. I love how they each choose a different one. Very reflective of their contrasting personalities.

We heard the new book, did activities, a parade around the store, and had peppermint hot chocolate and a chocolate chip cookie. We won a book too! It was lots of fun! We had fun seeing some of our friends there too.

Pronouced Dead @ 9:45pm

Romeo has been sick the last month. He had days where he seemed he was going to recover. Then tonight he suddenly became very ill and slow breathing. We spent almost 2 hours watching him die. As you can see, the funeral was very sad. Yeah, right! They were so giggly and kept asking me if we could go to the pet store tomorrow to buy guppy fish. Easy come, easy go I guess. Actually, Scott and I were emotional and teary eyed. After 5 months, we became attached to Romeo. He was a cool little fish...our first family pet.

Side note: Too bad he couldn't have died early in the day. The girls are going to have a hard time getting up tomorrow for school!

Beatles Rock Show - Girly Style

My friend Mary gave Carissa and Maia Beatle shirts last year. They are the coolest shirts. She got them from The Gap in the little girl section. How cute is that? I can't believe they carry shirts like this for little girls. It's never too early to get your kids into The Beatles! They had a fun time posing for pictures. Thanks again Mary!
